Hongjitang was founded in 1907, with Shandong Medical Technology Co., Ltd. as a subsidiary
- It has China's largest GMP montmorillonite raw material production base, with an annual capacity of 1,500 tonnes, nearly 80% market share in China, and is also popular in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
- Our montmorillonite API products meet international standards such as CP, EP, and USP, and can provide complete documents including COA, DMF, COPP, GMP, and WC. Our company's montmorillonite powder was among the first in the country to pass the generic drug consistency evaluation, and we can accept OEM and ODM services.
The Century-long Development of Hongjitang
1907
In 1907, Le Jingyu founded Hongjitang on Yuanqian Street in Jinan, taking the meaning of 'Great enterprise to aid the people'
1909
In 1909, Le Jingyu set up the Hongjitang Ejiao Factory near the Crescent Spring in today's Wulongtan
1914
In 1914, Hongjitang Ejiao was awarded the top gold medal at the Shandong Provincial Products Expo
1915
In 1915, Hongjitang Ejiao was awarded the first-class gold medal at the Panama–Pacific International Exposition
1933
In 1933, Hongjitang was awarded the 'Excellence' certificate by the Ministry of Railways Industry
1951
In 1951, the Jinan Special Municipal Government issued the 'Enterprise Registration Certificate' to Hongjitang.
1956
In 1956, the state-private joint venture Hongji Pharmaceutical Factory was established
1968
In 1968, Hongjitang's production of Ejiao was transferred to Dong'e County Medicinal Materials Company and Pingyin County Medicinal Materials Company
1993
In 1993, musk ketone was recognised as a national Class I new drug
1995
In 1995, 'Hongjitang' was recognised as one of the first 'Time-honoured Chinese Brands'
2009
In 2009, 'Hongjitang Chinese Medicine Culture' was listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage directory
2012
In 2012, Hongjitang was entirely relocated to 30776 Jingshi East Road, Jinan

In 2015, Hongjitang's 'Artificial Musk Development and Its Industrialisation' project won the National Science and Technology Progress First Prize
2017
In 2017, Hongjitang was honoured as one of Asia's Top 500 brands with a brand value of 16.011 billion yuan

In 2018, Hongjitang Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Tourism Scenic Area was rated as a National AAA-level Scenic Area
